In August of this year we will be opening a new Green Collar training centre at the Romag premises in Consett, County Durham. The centre is currently being fitted-out, and discussions are under way with DWP regarding the through-put of trainees. It is anticipated that around 100 young people per year will be recruited and trained in the installation of photovoltaic roof tiles. These tiles convert the sun's energy into electricity, which can provide low cost power or be sold to the National Grid.
It is planned that the trainees will find employment in this rapidly growing area of the renewable energy industry. The project will be managed by our Green Collar Construction division.
