The NAC Group will make a major contribution to the success of the Work Programme. Working with our strategic partners in the North East and across the rest of the UK we are committed to opening-up job opportunities for the long-term unemployed in the new low carbon industries.
We have taken our market-leading Green Collar Apprenticeship programme, that we developed for Nissan, and adapted it for use in the solar PV and wind power manufacture. Our training will enable local people to compete for the jobs in these growing industries.
We will undertake research and development so that we understand the critical business and labour market trends, and can respond with new training products. We will work closely with employers and deliver the skills that they need to grow their businesses through a national network of Lean Academies.
We will continue to generate innovative ideas for job creation, for example using income from Feed-in Tariff to support training and apprenticeship programmes.
